Islands
Tove Jansson is one of my favouritest drawers. She's up there with Durer and Hokusai. Most people of my generation remember the creepy animated felt version of the Moomins from their childhoods, but haven't read the books, but they should. The stories are lovely but for me the pictures make the books fantastic. Her mastery of tone over the page is amazing, and something I certainly aspire to.
So in homage to the great lady I have recreated a scene from Moomin Papa's Memoirs, the Hattifattner's island, which nestles beneath my computer at work. If you don't know what a Hattifattner is then read the books.
